The dialogue between lexicographers and language users

Description

The aim of the project is to find ways to include language users in the process of lexicographic practice and to use the gained knowledge in the creation of new language manuals and other resources in the participating institutions. Contemporary mono-/multilingual lexicography already considers the user role as an integral part of lexicographic processes, but it is not always easy to put these theoretical assumptions into practice. By producing new language resources predominantly in electronic form, lexicographers can more easily develop concepts that enable users to work effectively with the linguistic data displayed.

The cooperation of Slovenian and Czech lexicographers on this topic seems to be beneficial from the point of view of the linguistic affinity and typological proximity of Czech and Slovenian. It facilitates the comparison of the phenomena studied in both languages and brings synergistic effects. The cooperation of lexicographers from both countries has already proved its worth. It can now serve to mutually inspire user-friendly solutions in explanatory lexicography.
