Duša D. Race is a researcher at the Department of Lexicology of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language. In her research work, she focuses on language variation and style, particularly from the perspective of labeling in general explanatory dictionaries.

She participates in the preparation of eSSKJ; the Dictionary of the Slovenian Standard Language, third edition, and the School Dictionary of the Slovenian Language, also serving as a reviewer for the Growing Dictionary of the Slovenian Language. She is a co-author of the chapter Language Varieties and Types on the pedagogical dictionary-and-grammar portal Franček.

Additionally, she focuses on issues related to the modern online presentation of dictionary content for diverse user groups and is involved in editing dictionaries for online editions, with particular attention to user-centred presentation of lexicographic and other linguistic data on the Fran and Franček portals.

She also works as a technical editor for the journal Slovenski jezik / Slovene Linguistic Studies, the Rastoči slovarji (Growing Dictionaries) series, the Association of Slovene Slavist Societies, and as an editor (co-editor of the conference proceedings Slavistično društvo Slovenije: Slovenian and Slavic Studies 90 Years Later).
