Duša D. Race is a researcher at the Department of Lexicology of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language. In her research work, she focuses on language variation and style, particularly from the perspective of labeling in general explanatory dictionaries.

She participates in the preparation of eSSKJ; the Dictionary of the Slovenian Standard Language, third edition, and the School Dictionary of the Slovenian Language, also serving as a reviewer for the Growing Dictionary of the Slovenian Language. 

Additionally, she dedicates herself to the issue of the modern presentation of dictionary content online for various users and contributes to the design for displaying dictionary and other linguistic data on the Fran and Franček portals.

In her free time, she contributes to the development of computer games by writing stories for them.
