Section Purpose and Activity
The Centre for Language Technologies Development (JetRCe) brings together researchers from all sections of the institute. Together, they deal with tasks that go beyond the work of individual sections and for which it is necessary to know the specifics of the work and materials that affect the manner and scope of project implementation, which also includes planning appropriate software and other equipment. JetRCe currently brings together ten researchers. An important part of their tasks is the conceptual design and creation of databases, the adaptation and design of specialized programs for creating dictionaries. In addition, they digitize and archive material, thereby ensuring that data are accessible to researchers and the general public. In terms of research, members of the section focus on language technologies, organizing data schemes, and technical and legal issues connected with the accessibility of language resources. Some members teach at the ZRC SAZU Graduate School, and they also frequently appear as guest lecturers in Slovenia and abroad.
