The aim of the project is to enhance knowledge on effective strategies for involving language users in mono- and multilingual lexicographic practices, with a particular focus on the development of new reference works and language resources within the participating institutions. The research is framed in the context of large generative models (LGMs) and artificial intelligence (AI) for lexicographic applications. The project will extend ongoing research in modern lexicography that examines the role of users as an integral part of lexicographic processes and explores the potential of LGMs in supporting lexicographic tasks. Collaboration between Slovenian and Czech lexicographers is particularly well-founded, given the typological proximity of Slovenian and Czech and the similar understanding of the role and status of reference works in both contexts. Building on previous cooperation, the project will enable a more in-depth analysis and foster the development and implementation of user-oriented solutions, including the integration of LGMs into lexicographic workflows.
