Opportunities for Public Engagement in the Linguistic Research Process
November 16, 2021 at 16:00 to November 16, 2021 at 18:00
Webinar
To mark the end of the GRACE project, we invite you to a conversation on 16th November 2021 at 4:00 PM (CET) between linguists who come into contact with the public in their research work – be it enquirers in the Language Counselling Service or collaborators in developing tools and co-creating databases – orthographic, dialectological, corpus-related ... What is their motivation and how would you evaluate and encourage the participation of this dormant public?
They will share their experiences:
- Dr. Hana Mžourková (Czech Language Institute, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague),
- Dr. Janoš Ježovnik (Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language, ZRC SAZU),
- Dr. Tanja Mirtič (Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language, ZRC SAZU),
- Dr. Simon Krek (Centre for Language Resources and Technologies at the University of Ljubljana) and
- Dr. Urška Vranjek Ošlak (Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language, ZRC SAZU).
The discussion will be led by Dr. Helena Dobrovoljc (Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language, ZRC SAZU), moderator of the Language Counselling Service at the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language at ZRC SAZU.
We will be welcomed by Ildiko Ipolyi, PhD, GRACE Project Manager at the European Science Foundation, and Mimi Urbanc, PhD, Deputy Director and Project Manager at ZRC SAZU.
The event will be held in Slovenian; the introductory greeting will be given in English.
You can sign up for the event until 16th November 2021 by 12:00 PM at the following link:
