Slovenia Successful at the European Terminology Summit
The European Terminology Summit, held in Innsbruck on November 27 and 28, brought together around 120 participants from 34 countries. Slovenia was prominently represented and well-noticed. The summit featured terminology planning in 40 languages, with papers published in the monograph Handbook of Terminology 4: Terminology Planning in Europe (John Benjamins, 2025).
The Slovenian situation was presented in two panels by Mojca Žagar Karer and Mateja Jemec Tomazin. As president of the European Terminology Awards Jury, Mojca Žagar Karer presented the awards for the best PhD and MA theses; the latter was awarded to Slovenia’s Gašper Tonin.

Slovenia was also mentioned as an example of successful efforts to use the national language in operating systems and subtitling.
